▸Participants must sign up in their respective categories: purchased and homemade cosplays.▸Early sign ups for the contest will reserve your spot. Sign ups during the event will be limited.
▸Cosplays must follow our Code of Conduct and Cosplay and Prop Regulations detailed above.▸Props and weapons must pass safety regulations and be peace-bonded on the day of the convention. Contestants need to be able to freely move around the stage without a handler.▸Winners will be awarded into:
▸ “Best in Show” for each category
▸ “Audience’s Favorite”
▸ “Judges’ Choice”
▸ 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place▸Participants will be judged by their craftsmanship.▸Participants may also include an optional music track or video clip (30 secs to 1 min and must be accessible via Youtube) to accompany their cosplay showcase/presentation.Categories:
▸Presentation: How neatly presented is the cosplay? How well is the composition of the cosplay? Does the contestant stay in character during their walk-out? How confident is the contestant in their work?▸Accuracy: Does the cosplay closely resemble original reference regardless of creative liberties?▸Creativity: What are the fine details in the cosplay? How are the materials used to create the final product? Are there creative liberties that work well for the character/cosplay? How did they work around difficult character designs?▸Workmanship: How did they modify non-handmade items? Quality of cosplay? What materials went into the contestant’s cosplay? Do the fabrics, and choices of trims work well together?

❀【Code of Conduct】❀

〔 Cosplay and Prop Regulation 〕
▸Cosplays must be safe for work. They cannot promote alcohol, illegal drugs, tobacco, firearms/weapons▸No nudity allowed.▸Cosplays cannot be obscene or offensive or endorse any form of hate or hate group.▸Cosplays may not be realistic depictions of law enforcement or emergency responders.▸Shoes must be worn at all times.▸Realistic prop weapons of any kind will not be allowed. This includes, but is not limited to: props resembling firearms, knives, hammers, etc.▸Excessively large props are prohibited. This involves anything that is over 10 pounds or over 5 ft in length or width.▸Signs may be used as props for cosplay. However, the contents of said sign may not be lewd, harmful, or overly offensive.▸Full mask coverings are allowed but may not be worn over the face, except for short videos or pictures.〔 Registration Process 〕
▸A valid form of ID will be needed at the registration table.▹ Valid forms of ID include Student ID, driver's license, state ID, etc.▸Wristbands given at the registration desk are to be worn and remain visible at all times.▹Wristbands allow the attendees to freely enter and exit the event through designated entry points.▸Stolen, lost, or tampered wristbands will not be replaced or refunded.▸All bags are subject to inspection.▹This includes but is not limited to backpacks, duffle bags, large
purses, or tote bags.▸All attendees cosplaying will be subject to a Cosplay and Prop Check located at the main entrance lobby.〔 Policy for Children / Minors 〕
▸Children under the age of 13 are to be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.▸Children are required to carry in some form contact information of their guardian, should Aniwaves Staff need to contact them.▸If a child is found unattended, they will be escorted to a designated area until their caretaker is found.〔 Photography / Videography 〕
▸Cosplay is NOT consent.▸Photoshoots may not impede the flow of traffic public. A dedicated photography area will be provided.▸Do not block walkways.▸Do not film/photograph people without their consent. If you would like to cover the event, please contact us at csulb.aniwaves.gmail.com.〔 Prohibited Items 〕
▸No weapons, alcohol, drugs.▸No vapes.▸No hazardous material (ex: needles and waste).▸No sexually explicit material.▸No explosives or chemicals of any kind including, but not limited to, smoke powder, sparklers, and fireworks.〔 Zero Tolerance Policy 〕
▸Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated.▸Do not touch other attendees without their prior consent.▸Theft of any kind will not be tolerated.▹The appropriate authorities will be notified of any theft or misconductAniwaves Staff and Volunteers May:
▹Remove an attendee for breaking a rule during an emergency.▹Coordinate with authorities (i.e Campus Police/911) to deal with uncooperative/violent attendees or attendees that need medical help.▹Deny entry and/or service to attendees not following the rules.▹Request proof of admission at any time.
